Each Summer in Historic Monroe County, families come from far and wide to enjoy the beauty of Wm. C. Sterling State Park for the Independence Day Holiday and the Monroe County Independence Day Fireworks Show. Campers fill the Lake Front campground, sun worshipers enjoy the wonderful sandy beach, folks have picnics, family cookouts, boaters and sailors enjoy one of the Great Lakes most popular waterfronts and fishermen reap from Lake Erie's bounty. To top it all off, every July 3, the Monroe County Convention & Tourism Bureau, along with generous community sponsors, bring the park to life with beautiful music as a DJ spins your favorite music all day long and then regional and national entertainers take the stage to "set the stage" for the county's biggest fireworks display!

From the park, you can also view other fireworks shows in the area including Toledo, Trenton, Wyandotte and more! What could be better than spending the July 4th Holiday at Wm. C. Sterling State Park in Historic Monroe County. Other available activities include helicopter rides by Great Lakes Helicopters, 6.5 miles of hiking or biking trails, birdwatching (dozens of majestic American Bald Eagles nest in the area) and much more. Monroe County has lots of incredible things to see and do. Bring the family for the entire holiday! Make your reservations early, the campground fills up fast.
